‘The Blacklist' Season 4 Episode 8 Recap Unveiled
Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) has been through quite a lot through the four seasons of “The Blacklist”, but nothing was as expected and at the same time unwanted as Liz’s “death”.
Entertainment Weekly shares the newest development in the series. Under the influence of a drug and pain induced trance, Raymond 'Red' Reddington (James Spader) admitted that Liz is his daughter, or did he? Later on, his statement turned into series of questions, which one way or another influenced the audience, sowing the seeds of doubt and suspicion in the viewers. From a straight out admittance, it turned into a painful dilemma, as Raymond Reddington asks if that is what his torturer wanted to hear. Asking him the same question over and over again.
The Wall Street Journal shares information on how did Raymond 'Red' Reddington fall into the hands of his enemy on the first place. In the mid-season finale, Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) managed to once again kidnap Liz. As viewers know, he is desperately trying to stave off his life threatening disease. Finding this out, Raymond Reddington found Alexander and made his a proposition he could never deny. Red’s life for the one of Liz. This was a brave act from Raymond, but it was a foolish one too. He threw himself in the arms of his nemesis and such a decision has never led to anything good.
TV Line adds the finishing touches of this dramatic story. Katarina Rostova, had led Alexander Kirk on believing that Raymond 'Red' Reddington is Liz’s father. So he put Red through series of tortures through different drugs so he can get the truth out of him. Asking over and over again if he is Liz’s father, until Red opened his mouth and said the fated words, that he is Liz’s father afterwards asking if that is what Alexander wanted to hear.
Lead writer Daniel Cerone has mentioned on twitter that Red’s confession is part of a big plan which will make sense as the end of the season comes.
“The Blacklist” Season 4 Episode 9 will air of 5 January on NBC
