The Weeknd & Bella Hadid Have Split; Love Ends In Tragedy?
Singer The Weeknd (né Abel Tesfaye) and supermodel, Bella Hadid are going their separate ways.
The couple has split after a year and half together, according to People. "Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album," a source confirms exclusively. "They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends."
Most recently, the pair was seen vacationing together in Tokyo in October. Both parties did not immediately respond to request for comment. Abel Tesfaye, 25, and the model, 20, were first linked together in April 2015 when he asked her to be in the artwork for his album, "Beauty Behind the Madness." Hadid also starred in The Weeknd's music video for his single, "In the Night."
The couple's relationship was confirmed when they made their red carpet debut together at the 2016 Grammys. "It was a big night for him," Hadid shared to Glamour over the summer. "He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy."
Hadid added, "I'm dating Abel. I don't see him as The Weeknd. I'm proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel."
The two were last photographed together in Tokyo last month. They'll next appear together during the "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" which will tape on November 30 in Paris and air in December. The Weeknd is performing and Bella is walking in the show.
The Weeknd's new album, "Starboy," will be released Nov. 25. Hadid is currently to debut in her first "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show," airing Dec. 5 on CBS.
