Brad Pitt Attends First Red Carpet Since Angelina Jolie Divorce, Thanks Fans for Their ‘Support’
Since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce back in September, actor Brad Pitt attended his first public red carpet event this evening in honor of his upcoming flick, "Allied." Pitt was on hand for a fan Q&A and stopped to say a few words about filming the highly anticipated film as well as how he is since the split news.
After spending a good chunk of time signing fans' autographs, Pitt shared how happy he was to spend time with those who were excited to meet him. "It's really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here," he explained before adding, "It's really nice to have all the support."
Recently, E! News confirmed that Brad was officially cleared of child abuse allegations by the Los Angeles Country Department of Children and Family Services. The investigation was prompted due to an incident involving the actor and his eldest son Maddox on a private airplane back on September 14.
The DCFS found that Pitt did not commit any child abuse during the incident. A spokesperson for Angelina released the following statement:
"The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation. As we said earlier this week, childcare professionals encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides that was in the best interest of the children. Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal."
Yesterday, Brad was also seen with fans at a private screening for Moonlight, a film that his production company is linked to, according to E! News. The divorce proceedings were reported to have entered their presumably final stages.
