'Harambe' Gets 11,000 Votes in Recent US Presidential Elections? 'Pikachu' also Included In The List
People on Twitter has been posting their support for Harambe, the gorilla who died half a year ago, saying that "Harambe's spirit" must live in all of us. Now, there's a widespread rumor that more than 11,000 voters chose Harambe over Trump and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.
And the votes are not just some jokes thrown around the internet. Photos of people writing Harambe as a write-in candidate has been circulating online and there is a lot of them.

Some people did not choose Harambe but neither were all the real-life candidates. Voters legitimately wrote Cthulhu, Sweet Meteor O' Death, and Kylo Ren Pikachu. There are some who voted for internet's favorite audience Ken Bone, One Direction member Harry Styles, and wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin who once had a campy fight with Trump at WWE.
Was this a victory for the internet community fueled with memes and political stories taken lightly? People were angry when they found out that Harambe got more than a thousand vote.
Harambe had 11,000 votes. 11,000 adults woke up, got dressed, and then waited in line to vote for a dead gorilla. Let that sink in. — Ellen DeGenres (@TheElIIenShow) November 9, 2016
Yahoo! Writer David Leavitt posted that votes for Harambe were just a waste and it could have save the country from Donald Trump.
Over 11,000 people voted for Harambe. Harambe is a dead gorilla. Those 11,000 votes would have saved our country. #ElectionNight — David Leavitt (@David_Leavitt) November 9, 2016
There is still no credible source that would verify if the dead gorilla really got 11,000 votes but people are still in awe of how Americans took the elections as a joke.
