‘Refurbished iPhones’ From Apple Online Store With Discount Up To 15%; How To Get It & Where

A secret about Apple has been disclosed recently. The tech major was selling "refurbished iPhones" through its online store. All such phones were sold at a discount up to 15 percent from the original price of the device. It came as a surprise to many as this information was kept closed for some time. Interestingly, refurbished iPhones would also come with a one-year warranty, outer shell and new battery, like any other new iPhones.

The refurbished iPhones page in the website shows that the variants of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are listed. All the phones are coming with standard 15 percent discount and all of them are coming unlocked. For example, the refurbished iPhone 6S Plus that comes with 64GB storage is priced at $589, whereas the new device with just 32 GB storage is priced at $649. It is interesting to know that both refurbished iPhones and new devices are sold through the same channel.

It is reported that the refurbished iPhones section was never endorsed and hence people were not aware of this. It is known that Apple was maintaining a refurbished section for its MacBooks, iPads, Macs etc., but it was not reported to be selling the refurbished iPhones in recent times. In 2007, Apple sold refurbished iPhones, which is its first generation phones through its official website, but later that option discontinued.

It should be assumed that the phones now made available as refurbished should have sourced from the upgrade offer given when iPhone 7 introduced. The upgrade offer started last year and it facilitated the iPhone users to upgrade to the new phone from the existing for a 24-month installment payment system. When the new device got released after 1-year users were allowed to upgrade to the new phone with an additional 12 months payments.

If the upgrade offer continues with the upcoming devices including iPhone 8, then the price-sensitive consumers may find the refurbished iPhones page as a goldmine. Also, Apple would be expecting to bring more customers to the platform and hence more business with these refurbished iPhones.
