NaVi Kicks Three Dota 2 Team Players Out Of The Group
Back in October, Dota 2 event was widely commended for building the biggest prize to date. Barely days after the tournament, reports about a team's break up loom over the web.
Dota 2's event is said to be included in Guinness World Record's book release by 2017, because of the new record it stalled: the event already has $20,776,460 in total prizes, with half of the amount promised to the champions, Forbes notes.
Barely days after the good news Dota lovers received, a bad news came. Yahoo's report states that NaVi announced which of the members will stay in Dota 2 team. The news was first released in NaVi's website, confirming that former team captain Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev, Ivan "ArtStyle" Antonov, and Dmitry "Ditya Ra" Minenkov are no longer connected with the organization.
Players left to play for NaVi's Dota 2 team are Victor "GeneRaL" Nigrini and Danil "Dendi" Ishutin. They will keep Position 2 and Position 3 in the team. For now, NaVi has not yet confirmed how they will search for the players who will replace the members who just left the team.
Speculations say this was caused by the team's poor performance in various events, most especially during The International 2016. They even failed to join in Boston Major event which is slated on December 3-10 and the organization was left with no choice but to give their spot to Ad Finem.
Mashable's report gave another angle to the reason why the team broke up: internal group conflict. This was confirmed by a YouTube series titled "NaVi Series". The videos released show NaVi manager Igor Sidorenko and NaVi esports director Eugene Zolotarev's statements over the matter, confirming that some of the members have some psychological problems to deal with.
