Anime Movie "Kimi no Na Wa" Qualifies for Oscars - Funimation Confirms! [WATCH HERE]

Funimation Films just has a huge milestone. Anime Movie "Kimi no Na Wa" was confirmed to enter consideration list for Best Animated Feature Category. The film qualifying run will take place in Los Angeles on December 2 - 8 at the Laemmle Music Hall. Find the anime feature selection in theaters nationwide early 2017.

Kimi no Na Wa is director by critically acclaimed director Makoto Shinkai. The anime movie has earned an excess of $17.9 Billion Yen thats a total of $170 Million USD since it opened August 26, 2016. The anime movie labeled as the #1 highest grossing film of 2016 and was the first ever film to gross more than 10 Billion Yen at the Japanese Box Office hits. Kimi no Na Wa has surpassed films directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and is now ranked at #7 in the highest grossing films of all time in Japan. Funimation has shared their insights;

"Kimi no Na Wa" is a story about two young souls bound by time, and fate. One day, the stars fell, the young sould lives were changed forever. The story will be between two High Schoolers Mitsuha and Taki.
