PlayStation4 Fallout 4 Mods Release News & Update: Mod Support, Patch Launch, Mods Limitations, And Mod Space

PlayStation 4 (PS4) gamers of "Fallout 4" will have an early Xmas gift from Bethesda Games, which beefed up the game with the availability of the Creation Kit, the modding software for "Fallout 4" that is designed for PS4 mods. "Fallout 4" was launched in 2015 with mods only available for Xbox One and PC users. According to Bethesda, the PS4 Mod Support will be released this month.

The mod support for "Fallout 4" is still undergoing certification, as reported by Polygon. Bethesda needs a signal from Sony before releasing the patch. Once the patch has been approved, users can update their PS4 version of "Fallout 4" and will have access to mods using the Creation kit.

However, PS4 gamers cannot use any external assets once the mods are accessible on the PS4. "Fallout 4" players are advised to use the internal assets of the game on PS4 to create everything they make for it through the Creation Kit.

According to Cinema Blend, mods can be made for "Fallout 4" on the PS4 by using what are available within the game. Players are prohibited to download any new mods that have new meshes, textures, sounds, models, and shaders.

This limitation did not sit well with the console modding community. Those who have been making custom companions for "Fallout 4" will not be allowed. For gamers, this means no new clothing items, no weapons from other games, no new vehicles, and no new characters.

A solid catalog will be released once PS4 mods go live. PS4 Fallout mods are expected to reappear once Bethesda has officially launched the mods for the PlayStation 4. Mobile gaming website Gottabemobile noted that mod space for the PS4 Fallout 4 would only allow 900MB. The limit for Xbox One is 2GB.

Bethesda is negotiating with Sony to increase the limit to alleviate the concerns raised by developers and mod users.
