Spoiler: Another Legend Is Coming Back To WWE - Dream Matches, Theories And More
SmackDown's 900th episode is shaping out to be one of the biggest ones the show has done. Given that the show hasn't reached a milestone as big as 1000 episodes like its brother, Monday Night Raw, 900 episodes is still a remarkable feat.
Just last week, WWE already announced that The Undertaker will rise from the dead on November 15 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for the show. Another Hall of Famer is set to make a comeback, according to SmackDown Live Commissioner, Shane McMahon.
Shane announced on Twitter on Tuesday that the Rated R Superstar, Edge, will be on the show for its 900th-episode celebration. Edge was forced to retire back in 2011 due to his neck injuries. He was immediately added to the WWE Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Famer has made some appearances inside (not in a match) and outside the ring since then. Edge has also revealed on his talk show, Cutting Edge, that he's focus is on being a father and acting since his retirement.
It was also revealed that the Rated R Superstar's appearance next Tuesday will be a special edition of his talk show. His guest would be Shane McMahon. With this in mind, fans couldn't help but wish that Edge will have another dream match, just for one night.
Here's a list of WWE Superstars who could face Edge should WWE decide to give him one last hurrah.
The Undertaker
Edge and The Undertaker's Wrestlemania 24 match was one of the most explosive matches these two superstars had. It would be a great deal if they can do it again for the fans.
AJ Styles
The Phenomenal One is one of the biggest - if not the biggest - names in WWE today. He's the WWE World Champion, he's been absolutely sensational with his promos, and he's made every match remarkable no matter whom he face in the ring. Styles is also a veteran, which means that he would know the proper moves and spots to help sell the match without hurting Edge's neck.
Jeff Hardy
Speaking of dream matches, Jeff Hardy vs. Edge would be one heck of a surprise for the fans. If SmackDown Live's 900th episode becomes as big as Monday Night Raw's 1000th episode, then fans will know that a series of previous WWE Superstars will make a comeback. Wouldn't it be great if The Charismatic Enigma face the Rated R Superstar in another thrilling match?
James Ellsworth
James Ellsworth is one of the biggest hits in WWE as of the moment. Every single time the man comes out, the crowd goes wild. This doesn't even need to be a match. Edge could just come out in one of Ellsworth's segments and spear the heck out of him. Fans know Ellsworth could sell it.
Given Edge's neck condition, these matches probably won't happen. However, nobody really knows what WWE has up their sleeves. A fan can dream, a fan can only dream.
The 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE airs Nov. 15 at 8/7pm on USA Network.
