"Kimi No Na Wa" is a film by Makoto Shinkai which is Your Name in English is making it to the box-office in Japan. This love story of a boy and a girl is making its name in the film industry.
In a report from CSN, "Kimi No Na Wa" has made it to the top list of films and has been the number one for six weeks in Japan. The film is directed by Makoto Shinkai and is now the sixth grossing Japanese film. It is also the fifth Japanese animation film to date.
"Kimi No Na Wa" is all about a girl named Mitsuha Miyamizu who is looking for a boy of her dreams and has been tired living in the countryside. Meanwhile, a high school boy in Tokyo named Taki Tachibana wakes up one day realizing that she is trapped in a girl's body.
As the story moves along in "Kimi No Na Wa," these two characters' lives will be intertwined with each other but they do not see each other yet. It seems to them that they feel close towards each other without ever having physical contact.
According to a report in Otaku Tale, Funimation has confirmed that "Kimi No Na Wa" will be a nominee for Best Animated Feature for the upcoming Academy Awards. As being a nominee for such category, the film will have its run in Los Angeles Leammle Music Hall on December 2-8.
The cast for "Kimi No Na Wa" includes, Ryunosuke Kamiki is the voice of Taki Tachibana and Mone Kamishiraishi is the voice of Mitsuha Miyamizu. Other characters are Miki who is voiced by Masami Nagasawa and Mitsuha's Grandmother who is voiced by Etsuko Itchihara.
This is a big film that is making news for an animation. "Kimi No Na Wa" has grosses higher than the movies Avatar in 2009, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 2002 and Jurassic Park in 1993.
