Final Fantasy XV Will Soon Join MMO Gaming World; Machine Zone Tapped By Square Enix For The Project
Square Enix has tapped Machine Zone for a joint venture involving the famous science fiction and fantasy game series the Final Fantasy XV, a press release says. The new project will take the sci-fi game into a "mobile massive-multiplayer" game set.
According to the press release, Machine Zone (MZ) game studio will integrate soundtrack, storyline and characters from Final Fantasy XV with MZ's technology, allowing for enthusiasts from around the globe to play simultaneously in real time in one universe. The new game project will reportedly take on the titles of other successful massively multiplayer online (MMO) game titles such as "Game of War: Fire Age" and "Mobile Strike," which both ranked highly in Android and iOS App stores.
"Machine Zone has a stellar track record in the mobile gaming space and we are putting Final Fantasy XV in trustworthy hands," Square Enix Representative Director and at the same time, the President, Yosuke Matsude, was quoted as saying. The California-based MZ company, which began in 2008, rose to popularity when it developed in 2013 the "Game of War: Fire Age," which took 18 months to complete its design and strategy game on real time. In 2015, it launched "Mobile Strike," and tapped actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to appear on its advertisement. "Mobile Strike" is a warfare game in modern era, which was previously marketed as Epic War's creation, but was later on divulged to be a product of MZ.
"It is an honor to work on a franchise I have loved since I was a kid. Final Fantasy is an iconic franchise in gaming," said Gabe Leydon, founder and chief executive officer of Machine Zone, adding that with Final Fantasy XV becoming available in mobile massively multiplayer online word "is a significant opportunity for our players and we are proud to partner with Square Enix."
Although the exact date for the MMO game's release is yet to be announce, the Final Fantasy XV will be launched on November 29 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game consoles, according to Square Enix.
