"Sherlock" Season 4 was rumored to feature another BBC actor Tom Hiddleston following a recent important meeting between the "Thor: Ragnarok" star and Sherlock's lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch. However, reports denied that their interaction had something to do with the rumor that Hiddleston is joining "Sherlock" Season 4.

According to a report by Radio Times, Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that Tom Hiddleston will not be a part of "Sherlock" Season 4 as Sherrinford Holmes. Nonetheless, the rumor is still rife regarding Hiddleston's role in the show once it comes back on air.

According to the American Online, Benedict Cumberbatch apparently talked to Tom Hiddleston before deciding whether he would accept the role of "Doctor Strange." The reports say that Hiddleston, who is already familiar with Marvel movies, gave some important advice to Cumberbatch.

As of the moment, BBC and the rest of the production team has yet to confirm the inclusion of Tom Hiddleston in "Sherlock" Season 4. However, many fans believe that it is only a matter of time before the company makes an official announcement regarding its plan on casting the actor who played Loki in "Thor."

It has also been reported that the "Sherlock" Season 4 lead star had also approached Chris Hemsworth, who plays "Thor" in movies and Chris Evans, who plays "Captain America," and asked them whether he would take on the role. However, it was "Iron Man" himself Robert Downey Jr. who convinced him to accept the role. Downey Jr. was also offered a chance to play the character of Sherlock Holmes in a movie many years ago.

Despite his commitment to the movie "Doctor Strange," Cumberbatch assured his fans that it would not affect his time role as the charismatic private detective Sherlock Holmes in the "Sherlock" Season 4.

Episode 1 of "Sherlock" Season 4 is already scheduled to air on Jan. 1 on BBC. Stay tuned for more news and updates about the show's next run.
