Warner Bros Will Soon Release 'Fantastic Beast: Cases From The Wizarding World' Mobile Game As Its Version Of "Harry Potter Go," Says Report
Fans of the phenomenal blockbuster movie series "Harry Potter" will be seeing themselves engrossed in a wizarding world using their smart mobile phones, but not with "Harry Potter Go." Reports say Warner Brothers is developing and will soon release a game, which is a spin-off of "Harry Potter" movie series: the "Fantastic Beast: Cases From The Wizarding World."
Once the location-based wizarding mobile application is out in the market, it will be in a close rival to Niantic's "Pokemon Go," which to date is among the iOS App Store's "top grossing" application. With "Harry Potter Go," users would be searching for wizard's items like horcruxes, spell books, and herbs. They might also be using some broomsticks as shown in the movie sequels.
A report from Elite Daily says the mobile game application "Fantastic Beast: Cases From The Wizarding World" will showcase places seen in the "Harry Potter" movie series, such as Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts Castle. The game will also have its "Maurauder's Map," and players will be sorted out into four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw.
The idea of developing a mobile free-to-play, location-based game application "Harry Potter Go" hit the news when a video was posted on YouTube, showcasing a battle system where players battle against the evil such as spiders and dementors. In the video, players are also given the chance to use spells, which they can learn through gathering some spell books. The video also displays that players must learn the proper gesture in order for a particular spell to take effect.
An online petition was likewise launched to urge mobile game developers to develop an application similar to "Pokemon Go." As of this writing, the online petition has already gained 60,796 out of its 65,000 goal.
But while "Harry Potter Go" fans may yet wait for their petition to be heeded by game developers, they can take delight from "Fantastic Beast: Cases From The Wizarding World."
