It's superhero season in Australia. Right after "Thor: Ragnarok" finished filming, "Aquaman" is going to start its pre-production in the same studio.
According to Gold Coast Bulletin, "Aquaman" is will start later this month at a lot in Village Roadshow Studios. As of the moment, the crew of "Thor: Ragnarok" are dismantling the sets that was used in filming the movie.
Actor Jason Momoa has an impressive resume. His past roles included: Khal Drogo in "Games of Thrones" and Ronon Dex in "Stargate: Atlantis." His stature is quite befitting of "Aquaman" King of Atlantis.
Fans are going to get a glimpse of "Aquaman" in "Justice League" alongside Superman (Henry Cavil), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ezra Miller) and The Flash (Ray Fisher) There are rumors that a solo film for "Aquaman" started out as a joke, but Momoa is reportedly serious about bringing it to life. It is interesting to see how they are going to film a movie that is supposedly taking place underwater. It is tasking and can be challenging to both the cast and crew of the movie, especially to Momoa who's playing the lead role.
Momoa is going to be joined by Amber Heard who will portray the role of Mera, the Queen of Atlantis and Willem Dafoe as Vulko, a fellow Atlantean who's a close ally of Aquaman. As for the villain of the film "Aquaman," it is rumored that it is going to be Black Manta. Announcements are yet to be made as to who is going to be cast for the role.
Other names attached to the project are Bill Brzeski as Production Designer, Joel Kramer as Assistant Director/Stunt Coordinator and writers Will Beal, Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. "Aquaman" is set to be released in July 2018.
