'Wayward Pines' Season 3 Cast, Updates; Final Season Reveals Drastic Plot Changes?
All new season of "Wayward Pines" will happen soon -a statement that followers would love to hear. However, up to this very moment, no final words yet from the prime TV series producers Chad Hodge and M. Night Shyamalan.
"Wayward Pines", premiered in 2015, is initially anticipated as a limited series. However, as the story goes on, the producers discovered a lot of story to explore and unfold -the main reason why it reached Season 2 - giving more reasons for fans to follow the plot.
Shymalan earlier said that he believes that they can create a three season story out of the adaptation of Blake Couch's work of art, "Wayward Pines". Given an opportunity he said, they will create the third and final season. Season 2 finale leaves several doors of questions unlocked. There were various mysteries to uncover, with plans to change a few major plots.
Green light for Wayward Pines
A statement from Fox Television Group co-chairman/CEO Dana Walden, displayed a ray of hope among fans.
Walden, reveals to TV Line the strong possibility of the Season 3 production. She says that the plan for the coming season is being talked about. She also admits that the season 2 sci-fi series experienced down low ratings, and was compared to other thriller series of its kind. Therefore, as it comes back, the challenge is in Shymalan's hands, putting "Wayward Pines" into a higher level. It has been advised to do a more aggressive production.
"Wayward Pines" one year run on television gained favorable reviews. It garnered four nominations on 2016 Saturn Awards. Best Science Fiction Television Series, Matt Dillon for Best Actor on Television, Toby Jones for Best Supporting Actor on TV and Melissa Leo on Best Supporting Actress on TV category.
What the fans can only do now is to keep their fingers crossed that Fox will grant their request that "Wayward Pines" zoom on their TV screens once again.
