'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers: Is Oliver Really Dead? How Will Felicity React?

By Staff Reporter - 27 Dec '14 03:32AM

The midseason finale of "Arrow" came as a shocker o its fans as 'Oliver Queen' died, and shortly before apparently passing away, he confessed his love for Felicity.

But, it left its fans to keep guessing how Felicity would react to Oliver's death until it returns for its second half of the season in January. Actress Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity in the series, hinted that the episode is going to be very emotional. Rickards said filming the episode was a "draining" experience.

TVLine's Michael Ausiello, referring to the episode 10, says: "I will just remind you that when Matt Mitovich last Q&A'd Emily Bett Rickards, she had just wrapped filming 'a sad moment' for Episode 10 - aka the midseason opener, airing Jan. 21 - and it had left her 'drained.' (Elsewhere on Team Arrow, Marc Guggenheim told us that in the same episode, David Ramsey 'shot what I would describe as his most emotional scene.... David breaks your heart with his performance.'"

Meanwhile, fans have resorted to speculations on whether Oliver is really dead and if the series can move forward without him. Oliver died after he requested a trial by combat with Ghul, in which the latter thrusted a sword through Oliver's chest and kicked him over the side of the mountain.

The upcoming episode's promo shows Oliver's body lying on a snowy cliff. But, some believe that he might still have life left in him. Or as Entertainment Weekly speculates that there is a possibility of Ra's al Ghul's Lazarus Pits to bring him back to life.

Soon after Oliver's death, actor Stephen Amell took to Facebook to erase fans' concerns about the future of the show, writing: "Facebook. Thank you so much for the enthusiasm spilling out of tonight's fall finale. I've never had anywhere near this amount of feedback. Despite the title, our show is bigger than any one character. We're going to prove that to you. Sit tight... January will be here in no time."
