Land of the Giants and Star Trek: Actor Don Marshall Dies at 80

Star Trek star Don Marshal died at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last Sunday evening. The actor passed away at the age of 80. The sad news was spread through her friend Barbara Luna, a veteran actress that played the role Lt. Marlena Moreau in one of Star Trek episode.

She shared the news via Facebook. The post read, "It is with deep sadness and much difficulty to inform you that Don Marshall, another Star Trek & Land of the Giants member has passed away at Cedars Sinai Hospital on Sunday evening October 30, 2016, at approximately 8 PM, Don transitioned peacefully, at his bedside were his daughter, son, and twin brother Doug Marshall."

Donald James Marshall or popularly known as Don Marshall was born in San Diego on May 2, 1936. He was an American actor best known for his role as Dan Erickson in the television show Land of the Giants.

Review: Don Marshall through the years

 In 1960's Marshall's first professional role was in 1961 The Interns as Intern of course. In 1964 he played the role of a singer in Shock Treatment and 1968 Sergeant Ryker as Cpl. Jenks.

In 1970's Marshall had a role in the film The Reluctant Heros as Pvt. Carver LeMoyne in 1971; in 1972 The Thing With Two Heads as Dr. Fred Williams; 1973 Terminal Island as A.J. Thomas; 1974 Uptown Saturday Night as Slim's Henchman.

One of the most popular roles he played was in Star Trek. And in his every interview he was very vocal about how thankful he is, he's very grateful for his journey in Hollywood.

"There weren't that many jobs, guest starring jobs, for African-Americans or any minorities, really. I was very grateful to get the opportunities I got, it made me work very hard on each part, to make sure that whatever I was doing was right and that the characters I played were very strong people," he explained.

His journey ends but not his Legacy. He will always be remembered.
