Rogue One: A Star Wars Story : Details About The Upcoming Live-Action Film’s Casting, Story and MORE!
George Lucas and Lucasfilm's team of wizards will release "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" on December 16, 2016, that was directed by Gareth Edwards. Rogue One is the first in the Star Wars Anthology Series, which was initially announced at Celebration Mayhem on April 19, 2015.
Yahoo! Movies reported on a Gillete razors commercial that shows off a ton of the Rogue One's content and details about what fans are going to get. The commercial is part of a promotional campaign and features a face-off between Rebel and Imperial forces. No plot details are provided but Yahoo! Movies commend the commercial's humanization of the background players.
Rogue One's cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Riz Amed, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, and Mads Mikkelsen. Genevieve O'Reilly reappears as Mon Mothma, who is the Rebel Alliance's head. Darth Vader is also part of Rogue One, a development that excites many Star Wars geeks.
John Knoll, a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Lucas Magic, pitched the story for Rogue One, which began production in August 2015 and whose plot is set between "Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope." Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy is tapped to produce Rogue One. Kennedy shared that Lucas was "really interested in exploring all the stories that existed inside the universe."
Hollywood Reporter quoted director Gareth Edwards that "Rogue One is not the movie Star Wars fans are expecting." Edwards told the publication that the film needs to capture the same themes and emotions of a classic Star Wars. He describes the film as a story of redemption.
The Week reported on a new theory about how the film will end. It highlighted the possibility of the appearance of Princess Leia and provided a hint about the future of new heroine, who is played by Felicity Jones.
