"Bleed for This" stars Miles Teller, who also played as the villain, Peter Hayes in the commercially successful film sequels Divergent and Insurgent. The movie redeems the character of Miles as Vinny Pazienza, one of the premium boxers marked with an impressive streak of wins over strong fighters.
It was in 1991 when Vinny's boxing career poised to a peak, owned the 31-5 record, and became a world lightweight champ.
"Bleed for This" is a compelling story that happened outside the boxing ring. Pazienza, almost untouchable at the height of his achievement, basking at the love of the world in his hand, faced his greatest downfall.
The boxer was knocked down head on, while riding in a car driven by his friend, Kurt Reader. Both did not see the accident coming, as the car hit the van head on. The 28 year-old boxing star' sustained two broken vertebrae and a third dislocated high on his spinal column.
The man, who was once an epitome of strength, received a unanimous verdict of not being able to walk again. Sadly, he has to relinquish his junior middleweight world title.
But the story did not end there.
Vinny Pazienza shocked the world by his undefeated desire to return to the arena. With much determination, the "Bleed for This" star defied physical weakness and the scientific verdict to him. The film is written and directed by Ben Younger visually translates Vinny's urge to regain his core strength. Through the help of his renowned trainer Kevin Rooney, both paved their way for what could be his last boxing fight.
The American film premiered on September 2, 2016 at the 43rd Annual Telluride Film Festival is set to be released on November 18, 2016 in the United States.
