Confirmed, 'Deadpool' Director Tim Miller is the Executive producer of the Sony's 'Sonic the Hedgehog' Movie
Deadpool, director Tim Miller, recently bid goodbye to the production of Deadpool 2. The film pulled in $783.7 million at the worldwide box office, including $132.75 million during its opening week. But despite that he did a great job with the movie he still left the developing project sequel over creative differences.
But now he Joins Sonic The Hedgehog Movie. Miller will be the executive producer for the Sonic The Hedgehog film. Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Saga for the Sega Genesis console. The video game centers Sonic's ability to run high speed through levels incorporating spring, slopes and high falls.
Tim Miller and Jeff Fowler will work together on the said project. The two have worked together on visual effects and animation house Blur Studio for a long time. This will be Fowler's directorial debut.
"Jeff is an incredible director with strong instincts. The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for him to leverage his experience in animation to bring a new dimension to this iconic character," said Miller.
Miller and Fowler will be working together with Neal Moritz. Moritz will be the one producing the adaptation. Mie Onishi and Takeshi Ito will be joining Maritz as producers. While Toby Ascher, Dan Jevons, and Dmitri Johnson will be the co-executive producer of Miller.
Josh Miller and Patrick Casey, the ones behind Golan the Insatiable, will write the script. Marza, a CG animation film production company under Sega parent Sega Sammy Group, will be the production title for the Sonic movie. Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. announced last February in a report in Polygon that it is working with Sony Pictures. The Sonic the Hedgehog film is scheduled to be released in 2018.
The plan for the movie is to make a hybrid CG-animated/live-action family film. I'm sure everyone will be excited about the film, especially that Tim Miller will be the executive producer of the movie.
