Jeremy Irons Confirms Batman to Shoot Summer 2017; Shrugged Off Negative Reviews for Batman v Superman
Actor Jeremy Irons confirmed that Batman solo film would start shooting summer of next year. And he exposed that his character, Alfred Pennywoth, will have a longer screen time on this new movie.
For Batman fanatics, the character Alfred Pennyworth who is the loyal manservant of Bruce Wayne might have captured your attention. Now, Irons who play the role of Alfred dropped some hint that he will be playing a bigger role this time.
Jeremy Irons said "Similar, but then, of course, Ben's going to make a Batman film next summer. He promises me there's going to be a bit more of Alfred in that. In the Justice League, we have seven major lead characters, and I'm the butler to one of them. It's clear I will not be dominating that film."
It should be noted that Irons is not the first one to confirm that Batman solo film will start shooting next year. Joe Manganiello, who plays the role of DC villain Deathstroke, also said in a previous interview that they would start shooting the film "early next year".
When asked about the negative reviews that the Batman V Superman received, Irons said that he "was very pleased by the numbers" and that he even wondered why their director Zack Synder got a "hard time from the press". He further said that the audience liked the film and that is all that matters.
In this new film, Bruce Wayne enlists the support of Diana Prince. Together, the two will recruit a team---Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, and The Flash-who will fight against a greater enemy. Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Henry Cavill will play the roles of Batman, Wonder Woman, and DC Trinity again. Jason Mamoa will play Aquaman, Ezra Miller will be The Flash, and Ray Fisher will play Cyborg. The film will debut on November 10, 2017.
