Miss International 2016 Winner - Philippines! [WATCH HERE]
The Philippines takes home the Miss International crown
Kylie Versoza was crowned as the new Miss International last Thursday, October 27 in Tokyo, Japan. An early favorite from the competition, Versoza strut her way to the top 15 where she delivered her speech on why she should be Miss International 2016. With the advocacy of cultural, educational, and international understanding, no wonder she bagged home the Miss International crown. The other contestants that did well on their stint are Miss Australia who bagged first runner-up, Miss Indonesia, second, Miss Nicaragua, third, and Miss USA, fourth.
"Three things come to mind when I think of Miss International - culture, education and international understanding. These three work together to make the brand of the Miss International Beauty Pageant relevant to the global community and to our time. If I become Miss International 2016, I will devote myself to cultural understanding because I believe that it is with developing in each of our sensitivity to other cultures that we expand our horizons, tolerate difference, and appreciate diversity. All these enable us to achieve international understanding. And I believe I'm prepared to take on this responsibility," she said.
Her speech paves a way to promoting Cultural and International understanding. Versoza believes that she is ready to take on the responsibility of being Miss International 2016.
Versoza's win comes after Philippines first runner-up win in the Miss Grand International 2016, where Nicole Cordoves received some speculation after choosing Donald Trump to help stop war and violence.
This year marks a possibility of topping the best performance of the Filipina Beauty Queens last year. With the upcoming Ms. Universe Pageant, citizens got their fingers crossed that the Philippines will again take home the Ms. Universe crown.
Versoza is the 6th Miss International winner following the footsteps of Bea Rose Santiago who won last 2013. She was crowned by last year's Miss International Edymar Martinez of Venezuela.
