Microsoft has just unveiled its "Surface Studio 28" and "Surface Book i7", and now it has announced another surprise. Users can get up to $650 for exchanging MacBook for Surface. The offer is available from Oct, 27 and people can exchange their MacBook Air and MacBook Pro for a Surface Pro or a Surface Book. Brian Hall, vice president of marketing for Microsoft devices confirmed that the exchanged can be facilitated at a Windows Store or at Microsoft website.

The move can be clearly interpreted as Microsoft is taking on Apple in the premium device industry. Though it still needs to travel a lot more while comparing to Electronic behemoth, Microsoft is trying to provide quality devices that can match up or even surpass Apple devices, reports Mstars News. The latest entrants in the foray show that Microsoft is committed to providing high quality, high featured products, which Apple is known for.

It is reported that Microsoft has given similar types of exchange programs in past and it is not sure how successful those programs were, reported by CNET. The strategy of Microsoft is simple, it has a number of good devices and will bring more to the market, but it needs Apple customers on-board. It is clear that not all customers would be ready for an equal or slightly better device and to attain them this exchange of MacBook for Surface will work.

However, Apple did not make any comment on the exchange of MacBook for Surface program. It has announced a product launch event on Oct. 27 and it is expected to release redesigned MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016, cited by Stark Insider. The potential buyers may wait until the result of upcoming Apple products out and might decide on the exchange of MacBook for Surface program. It can also be expected that Apple might retain its customers with a better exchange offer.

Microsoft knows that a mere exchange program of MacBook for Surface won't bring people in and tried to include features that customers looking for. Interestingly Surface Studio has added a new feature of creating 3D arts on its screen using "Surface Dial" and "Surface Pen". This could be the step towards Mixed Reality, which Microsoft considers the next thing.
