'Underworld: Blood Wars' Cast & Update: Kate Beckinsale & Husband Director Len Wiseman Are Getting Divorced?
Kate Beckinsale and her director husband, Len Wiseman, are getting divorced. The couple tied the knot in Bel Air, California, in 2004. The pair did not have a child together.
Beckinsale has a 17-year-old daughter, Lily Sheen, with Showtime's "Masters of Sex" star Michael Sheen, whom she was with for eight years and still considers a close friend.
Wiseman filed the papers, and neither party is requesting spousal support, according to TMZ. That choice suggests a prenuptial agreement is in place. Wiseman filed for dissolution of their 12-year marriage on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to court documents, the couple's date of separation is "to be determined" and Wiseman has requested that the court's ability to award spousal support to either party be terminated, according to CBS News. The director also asked that both he and Beckinsale pay lawyers' fees.
Last November, a source confirmed that the actress and the director, both 43, had separated with "no drama." The split had been suspected for months. A source also shared that Wiseman, who had been photographed out and about with model CJ Franco at the time, had been staying at the Sunset Marquis hotel, according to LA Times.
Another insider added that neither Beckinsale nor Wiseman had recently been wearing their wedding rings. Meanwhile, Kate hit back at rumours she was dating comedian David Walliams in July this year, after they were spotted enjoying dinner in Mayfair together.
Kate took Twitter and joke regarding the rumor: "'This is my dear friend, @davidwalliams. If I ever see him naked I will immediately tattoo a [eggplant emoji] on my face for clarity."
Wiseman directed "Underworld: Evolution," its second installment; the two also worked together on the 2012 version of "Total Recall" with Colin Farrell. Wiseman, who is an executive producer of Fox's "Sleepy Hollow," has been a producer on all five "Underworld" flicks, with the newest one starring Beckinsale, "Underworld: Blood Wars," set to be released on Jan. 6.
