‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Spoilers, Updates & Release Date: ‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Rumored To Join ‘Sherlock’ Soon

Rumors are rife that an Outlander Star is going to join in as a cast for "Sherlock" Season 4. This happened after the actor had several tweet exchanges with the "Sherlock" producer.

The show "Sherlock" is also rumored that they are on the lookout for the third Sherlock brother. That is why, when "Outlander" Actor Sam Heughan had some exchange of tweets with "Sherlock" creator Mark Gatiss, the rumor just went wilder that the actor might actually be the selected one.

Even so, Enstarz said that the rumors is still not confirmed by the talked about creator of the "Sherlock" series. The report also recalled how Sam Heughan got his role in "Outlander". To recall, producer Maril Davis was impressed by how fast the actor fitted to the role. Because of his charm, the producer and the other casting officials were immediately able to associate him with the main character.

The main star of "Sherlock", Benedict Cumberbatch, have been annoyed due to some false reports about him releasing a statement that "Sherlock" Season 4 might be the last for the show. The actor specifically invited the avid followers of the show to watch the whole of season 4 to see if the show deserves another set of episodes.

With this statement, the actor might just be giving a hint of a "Sherlock" Season 5 coming soon. This is gladly noted and pointed out by Morning Ledger, without the actor leaving an official statement, though. The actor cleared it out that he will not be releasing any statement about the show just yet as some reports misrepresent or twist his words in a very different way. "It's not my responsibility to do that. That was a bit of irresponsible journalism," he said. "Sherlock" Season 4 is slated to air on BBC by January of 2017.
