Adele Urges Fans to Vote Against Donald Trump; Upset Because Songs Used Without Permission?
Adele, of 'Hello', has weighed in on the upcoming US elections and she is not happy one bit about republican candidate Donald Trump. She was videod telling fans who came to her Miami show to not vote for the real estate mogul.
In the video, the British singer can be seen saying "don't vote for him [Donald Trump]". The show was also attended by democrat nominee Hilary Clinton although it is unsure whether the singer knew the politician dropped by the event.
She also told audience that although she can not vote for the elections, she feels a great deal on speaking out about the issue. "What happens in America affects me too," the Hello singer added.
These anti-Trump statements come after the singer called out Trump for using her songs in his political campaigns without her permissions. Earlier this year, her hits Rolling in the Deep and Skyfall were played in Trump's public appearances and rallies.
Adele's songs are not the only ones being played without permission. Steven Tyler has also asked for Trump to stop playing Aerosmith's classic, "Dream On".
Adele is just one out of many famous personalities that have expressed their disapproval for The Apprentice star.
Television director Joss Whedon also made a video entitled Save The Day which he released in September that was starred by Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Don Cheadle and other a-list stars. While the video is meant to motivate the public to fulfill their civic duty of voting, the celebrities also poked fun at Trump and urged for people to boycott voting the Grand Old Party nominee.
Over 400 writers also came together in May, signed a petition and made an open letter that also attacked Trump. The petition also made a list of reasons why the people should "oppose unequivocally the candidacy of Trump". Stephen King, David Eggers and Amy Tan are just some of the famous writers that joined the petition.
