Pokemon Go has launched a Halloween event in an attempt to make the old game players go back in playing the app. The event will be from October 26 to November 1. The said game has reached 50 million players but has downsized to about 30 million players after some time.

Niantic, the makers of Pokemon Go, decided to make the Halloween special and make old players return. The Guardian confirms that Scary Pokemon like Drowzee, Hypno, Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar, Golbat and Zubat are the ones mainly to catch during the said event. Players will have a double candy if a Pokemon was caught or transferred, and a quadruple candy if the player is walking with their buddy Pokemon. As per NME, for players who have previously deleted Pokemon Go and was not able to update with a buddy, they will be able to download the game and choose which buddy they prefer, buddy's candy will be automatically acquired by the player and still get four times the candy.

Venturebeat mentioned that the game didn't have any new content updates, it is just Niantic's way to show a different theme and to put excitement to old players by showing them Pokemon that is not normally seen in the standard game.It is not yet determined whether this event would make the former players glue their hands on their phone again.

Pokemon Go was released last year and made a huge impact on players who enjoyed playing the app in the real world. It requires gamers to go to some locations where they can only catch the Pokemon. Ex-players complained that they get bored once they caught all the Pokemon because there is nothing much to do after. Most people say that there could be a hype during the Halloween event due to scary Pokemon, but the craze is highly unlikely to keep on especially after they catch all the scary Pokemon.
