Google Express has added 13 more states to the list it delivers and now claims that it covers 90 percentage of the U.S. The new states on the list are Alabama, Kentucky, Wyoming, Utah, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Montana, Tennessee, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. With these states added, Google Express covers an additional 70 million people with the platform.

Google Express is an online platform by Google, which offers home delivery from local shops within the day or overnight for a fee depends on the location of customer and shop, reports USA Today. The online platform which is also available as an app version, however, doesn't deliver any perishable items.

Since there are known players in the delivery servicing with good delivery options, any innovations can only be implemented after covering a major area of the country. Google Express is aiming to challenge Amazon as it is already providing Amazon prime to its customers and covers almost every nook and corner of the country. Google Express is expected to start options like guaranteed same-day delivery in future, reported by Tech Crunch.

A number of major retailers have joined hands with Google Express and making use of the benefits. It includes Costco Wholesale, PetSmart, Sur La Table, Whole Foods, Kohl's, Payless ShoeSource, and Guitar Center. The Google Express platform enables users to choose an annual membership that charges $95, to receive free delivery on certain items or a minimum fee of $5 per order depends on items, cited by The Seattle Times.

Google Express General Manager Brian Elliot confirmed that the firm will be covering 100 percent of the country by the end of the year. To take on Amazon, it has to come up with many more innovative products, as Amazon is trying to lure more people to its platform with different options including Amazon Prime Day and Family Vault.
