‘No Man’s Sky’ Review: Overhyped But Can Hello Games Deliver Missing Features?
"No Man's Sky" showed a lot of promise when the early trailers were first presented. However, many of its players were disappointed and angered when the promised features were missing.
"No Man's Sky" Did Not Pass Player's Expectations
"The No Man's Sky" video promo trailer was so enticing that a lot of gamers bought a copy on either Steam or PlayStation Network. However, promised features such as multiplayer mode were not included in the game. No "Man's Sky" developer Hello Games later clarified that it's not actually a multiplayer one but a game in which players share experiences.
Many irritated buyers of "No Man's Sky" immediately asked for refunds. Some got their money back while some did not. However, many former NMS players were raging about the game in various online social forums. Interestingly, Hello Games founder, Sean Murray went silent and seemed to have disappeared in public circles.
"No Man's Sky" From Technical Point Of View
A game development blogger, Gregkwaste posted a substantial technical analysis on how Hello Games developed "No Man's Sky especially how it created the game's environment including the animals and space ships. Based on the blogger's analysis, the space sim is actually small for an open world despite the marketing hype.
There is also the possibility that the developer could fulfil its promise to customers with regards to increasing the variety of planets, animals and other events in the game's open world environment. The blogger noted that the game's limited descriptors are enough to create countless variations in "No Man's Sky". This is possible because the developer is using procedural generation in creating the game's environment.
Hello Games' Update On "No Man's Sky"
Sean Murray and Hello Games are reportedly working on a major update slated for release before the end of October, according to the Express. Those who still have a copy of NMS should probably hold on to it for a little while.
