NY Knicks Quincy Acy Ejected for Shoving John Wall

New York Knicks forward Quincy Acy was ejected during the Christmas day game against the Washington Wizards.

After committing a flagrant-2 foul on Wizards point guard, John Wall, the pair got into a mini skirmish. Wall, who fell to the ground from the foul, got up and shoved Acy, who responded by throwing his arm toward Wall's head and chest area. After the referees assessed Acy's foul, he was ejected from the game.

"I was just dribbling the ball up, and then I just got pushed with two elbows, and I got up and gave him a shove back, and then after that the refs and teammates broke it up, and that was the end of it for me," Wall said. "I was just running down the court. Usually I think I just get a regular foul [from defenders] but I could tell [by] like how he charged [that it was going to be a physical foul]. When I fell, I kind of was frustrated, but I didn't try to retaliate in the wrong way to get ejected or anything."

In the video clip, Acy appears to be winding up for a punch. However, midway through, he stops and grabs Wall instead.

"I didn't throw a punch. I got up and reacted, then I just grabbed him," Acy said reported by ESPN.com. Reporters asked Wall whether or not he thought Acy tried to punch him. Wall replied, "I don't know. I ducked."

The league will analyze Acy's foul and decide on whether or not he would be fined or possibly suspended.

"I hope not. What was done wrong?" Acy said when asked if he could be suspended. "It was just a foul. If somebody has a fast break and you step up and grab them, it's the same concept."

Knicks coach Derek Fisher added, "I think if there is intent to create that type of situation, then that's not necessarily who we want to become, but I don't think that was Quincy's intent."

Wall got a technical for shoving Acy.

The Knicks lost the game 102 to 91.
