Miley Cyrus got too stoned! "My Way" lyrics was forgotten in the middle of performance. Billy Murray's reaction is priceless!
Bill Murray was awarded for American Humor Prize at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. for the 19th Annual Mark Twain Award. It is publicly known that the awardee is good friends with Miley Cyrus. Cyrus performed her own version of the song "My Way", but has forgotten the lyrics in the middle of the song performance.
According to People Music, Cyrus has apologized and admitted that she got too stoned. Cyrus also said: "I f-- it up." Cyrus was supposed to pay tribute to her good friend Murray for the latter's contribution to the entertainment industry. Murray defended Cyrus from critics and said he believe that the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker can sing. This was opposite from Murray's previous impression towards Cyrus, which he thought was crazy.
Celebuzz confirmed that Murray asked Cyrus to redo the song from the start. Murray understood that it was a live performance and Cyrus is entitled to a second chance. The audience applauded and laughed as Murray let the awkward moment disappear. Cyrus was able to redeem herself and did the song her way.
Other performers who paid tribute to Bill Murray were David Letterman, Aziz Ansari, and Jimmy Kimmel as per The Washington Post. There were no reports regarding fellow performers' reaction regarding the missing lyrics from Cyrus performance. Some believe that the reason of forgotten lyrics is overfatigue and the singer just needed a rest. It is known to the public that Cyrus is actively campaigning for Presidential Candidate Hilary Clinton.
Cyrus was also part of Murray's Netflix special "A Very Murray Christmas". This is where Murray regarded Cyrus as very talented and he had no idea about it at first. It was shown last 2015 and since then both Murray and Cyrus has maintained a good friendship.
Some may criticize that Cyrus was stoned and has forgotten her lyrics but others admired that the singer was honest enough and didn't mind if she may be ridiculed for admitting what she did in front of the live audience.
