New Acer Chromebook 15 has been launched on the market for $199. It replaces the 2015 model Chromebook of the company that sold at the same price. The latest version is claimed to have significant improvements over the previous version. Chromebooks are always meant of cheap and compromised laptops, which work on Chrome OS. Working with the device would reveal more than what company says.

Considering the low price, there are some compromises found in new Acer Chromebook 15. Even though the screen is 15.6-inch display, per Engadget, the screen looks grainy. It has a resolution of 1,366 × 768 and LED backlit. Though the resolution is HD, it should be remembered that it is not Full HD.

The battery of the Chromebook claimed to last for 12 hours and Acer said that while testing, they were able to use it for 17 hours, reports PC Magazine. A long term use would only reveal the actual capacity of the battery as many devices come with better battery packs lose its capacity later.

The 2GB RAM memory of the Chromebook is disappointing as almost all the laptops in the market come with at least 4 GB RAM. But, the preliminary testing has shown that up to 8 tabs can be opened simultaneously without any slowness.

The storage of the new Chromebook is just 16 GB. Considering the fact that most of the other Chromebooks that are available in the market come with 32 GB, this is less. Since it has Chrome OS and storage is mostly done in the cloud, an average user won't find difficulty with it. The processor of the Chromebook is Intel Celeron N3060 dual-core, per the press release of Acer.

In total, New Acer Chromebook 15 looks to attract people who wanted a computing device at an economical rate to work in Google environment. People who are looking for high specification laptops such as Apple MacBook Pro, won't find this device theirs.
