Golden State Warriors: Final 15-Man 2016-17 Roster Revealed
Everyone knows how powerful the Golden State Warriors are on the court. The team was able to acquire Kevin Durant after giving up some of their key players.
The Golden State Warriors currently have a 15 man team which was finalized by coach Steve Kerr. During the 2016 NBA Finals, the Warriors only used 14 players and even trotted out 13 for the 2015 championship round. Kerr always had the belief that there is strength in numbers.
The league rules and regulations indicate that teams can invite as many as 20 players to the training camp-preseason period. But as the regular season starts, the team will only be allowed 15 roster spots.
Warriors had 20 players during the training camp. In three preseason games, they only had 18 players. With only 18 players remaining, the Warriors should be able to pick the top 15 who will be joining the 2016-2017 roster.
According to reports, Scott Wood and forward Elgin Cook were both waived by the Warriors on October 9, 2016, leaving them with just 18 players to choose from.
To represent the team's key veterans, it is clear that the starting five would include Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, David West and Anderson Varejao. Aside from them, Ian Clark and James Michael McAdoo will also make it, especially that they were part of last season's roster despite their D-League career.
Kevon Looney, Patrick McCaw and Damian Jones, who were all drafted by the Warriors in the past two years, will also most likely remain with the team. Also part of the team is Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, JaVale McGee, and Zaza Pachulia.
As speculated by Bleacher Report, the three players who will be out on the roster of the Golden State Warriors are Cameron Jones, Phil Pressey and Elliot Williams.
Do you think these will be the final 15 roster of the Warriors? If not, what is your guess?
