Game Developer Drool, launched Playstation VR game, Thumper, early as a surprise for PlayStation 4 gamers who were eagerly anticipating the game. The game, which was supposed to be released on October 13 was released this Monday night, October 10 instead. According to the developers, this was to reward and surprise those who have been waiting for the game to come out for years, reports Yahoo.

According to IGN,Thumper co-creator Marc Flury also says that the the reason for the early released is to encourage players to try it out in its none VR form too. Flury says, "We think it's great on a traditional display too ... Each way of playing has its advantages."

Flury also says that Thumper will have PS4 Pro support. "We've worked hard to perfect Thumper's graphics tech and the extra power lets us push our original vision even further."

"On PS4 Pro, Thumper will render at up to 4K resolution (With no upscaling!) for the ultimate high-gloss HD experience. PS4 Pro also enhances the VR rendering quality while maintaining the same rock-solid 90 frames-per-second."

Thumper is a rhythm action game. In it, players will guide a space beetle and make sure it survives in a psychedelic hellish void. Polygon says that the game has seven worlds, each filled with numerous smaller sections. You will be measured on how fast you can react to the pulses of light and sharp turns each level throws out. Thumper's game play is also tied to its music track, which gives players a multi-sensory experience.

The game is extremely fast faced and, it will hammer the mechanics into you until you get it right. It's a violent and challenging game, and the experience of it is enhanced when played through VR.

The game costs $19.99. It's available on Steam and the PlayStation Network.
