Popular Japanese RPG 'Tales of Berseria' Gets January Release In Americas
The popular Japanese RPG (role-playing game) Tales of Berseria will be finally arriving in Americas this January. A collector's edition for the game will also be released at the same time.
Bandai Namco has announced that the game, said to be "one of the best Tales of games ever", will be available for PS4 on January 24, 2017 in U.S, while the European release will occur on Jan. 27.
Tales of Berseria is the sixteenth main entry within the Tales series and was released in August this year in Japan. It shares its world with Tales of Zestiria though the events in Berseria will occur in the distant past, and has the first female main character of the series, Velvet. Said to be a "tale of emotion vs reason," the game will see Velvet go up against Artorius Collbrande, a powerful Exorcist, who used to be "close as family" but are now estranged.
The game has overall received good reviews with respect to its plotline and characters, unlike Tales of Zestiria which hasn't fared so well with Japanese players
Berseria is based on the Linear Motion Battle System but with a variation. Dubbed 'Liberation-LMBS,' under this system the player can move around freely in a battle zone and rotate the camera at will.
The collector's edition for this exciting game will offer a comprehensive set of collectables:
- Exclusive Tales of Berseria SteelBook case
- Velvet and Laphicet Chibi Kyun Chara figures
- Exclusive 8-Bit retro keychain set
- Special Selection Music CD
- Hardcover prequel novel "A Witch's Tale: A World Full of Daemons"
- Set of Tales of Berseria trading cards
- Tales of Berseria starter strategy guide artbook
Priced at $149.99 USD, the edition is a limited edition with just 10,000 units being available with selected retailers.
Bandai Namco has reportedly warned that the set is likely to sell out fast given its popularity in Japan.
