Samsung Says That They Are Working On Note 7 Burns And Suspends The Production
Samsung Note 7 burns was a serious issue with many complaints from the customers since its official launch and now the company has come up with a statement that it is working on the issue and suspended the production temporarily. The issue became very critical as many of the replaced phones also caught fire later. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has initiated a quick investigation into the matter.
Originally known as Samsung Galaxy Note 7, was officially released on August as a successor to Note 5. Initially the phone received good response from the customers. But, things have got a U turn when issues like blast and catching fire continuously been reported. Due to the prolonged issues, Samsung gone for a mass "recall" of one million devices on September in U.S. However, the issue remained same with the new devices and now it leads to the suspension of production, per the reports of The VERGE.
Interestingly, many of the operators are also irritated with the device. AT&T has stopped the sale of phone and confirmed that the Note 7 customers can return the phone for different models. T-Mobile has also stopped sales and replacement of the phone, and asked people to return it for refund or for a different device. Verizon also requested its customers that if anyone is unhappy with their Samsung Galaxy Note 7, can exchange for another smartphone, sited The Wall Street Journal.
"We will try to speak with each customer and will try to understand what happened with their phone," said CPSC spokesman "Consumers should be informed that a 'full refund' is also an option under the recall." Additionally the air passengers with the phone have been told not to switch on while they fly terming Samsung Note 7 burns, as one caught fire on a Southwest Airlines flight just before takeoff last week. "If we found safety issues, we will take quick steps per CPSC guidelines to resolve it," Samsung said in a statement.
