'Star Wars' Episode 8 Spoilers: Is Han Solo Alive?

When Han Solo died in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," fans were left devastated but new reports indicate that the fan-favorite smuggler will be back in "Star Wars" Episode 8.

To recall, Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, was killed by his dark warrior son Kylo Ren. Many were shocked as the red saber of Ren gored up Han Solo. He was then tossed into a pit on a planet which exploded.

Because of how he was killed, many are left hopeless that Han Solo will still be alive. But despite this, many fans still can't move on about his death. Forbes noted that this could be because there is no closure in his character.

With that, there are many theories saying that Han Solo could still be alive. There is a “double agent” theory created by fans saying that Kylo Ren must have bent his saber to make it appear like he stabbed Han Solo. He then threw him into the pit which is a safer alternative.

This means that Kylo Ren may just be pretending that he has fully gone into the dark side in order to infiltrate the First Order. He also did this to find a way to defeat them. Killing Han Solo will prove his stand. Other theories also refer to how Luke survived in the same scenario with Darth Vader, iTech Post reported.

Movie Web also reports that there is a casting call for new characters for Star Wars Episode 8. It adds that the rumors started from IMDb pages since Harrison Ford is part of the cast.

There are also some that states that Han Solo could be back in the film as a memory of Kylo Ren, Leia or Luke. He could possibly appear in flashback scenes.

"Star Wars" Episode 8 is set for release on 2017. No exact date is revealed yet.
