iPhone 6s Rumor: Apple Set to Unveil 4-Inch Phone in 2015
Apple users who were left disappointed with bulking of the iPhone this year (read iPhone 6/6 Plus) have some cheer in store.
According to NDTV, Apple may launch a 4-inch iPhone in 2015 to address considerable number of users unhappy with this year's iPhone releases. While an official communication has not been made about the launch, Apple may release the 4-inch form factor phone as iPhone 6s mini. Added to Apple's customary release of two phones every year, this would take the total count to three.
Apple Insider quoted Cowen and Company's analyst Timothy Arcuri, who in a note to investors, said the iPhone 6s mini could be similar to iPhone 5s but may capture the curves of iPhone 6.
Business Insider said the new phone could be powered by an A9 chip manufactured by Samsung while other reports suggested it could be a Qualcomm chip.
What however is clear is that the phone would be released as a low-end version of iPhone 6 to appease those who prefer smaller form factor for ease of use. Apple itself supported its 4-inch form factor phones when other manufactures were releasing flagship devices with bigger screens. The company has argued in favor of its 4-inch form factor in the past stating that single-handed use allows the thumb easy access to all corners of the screen
While revealing details of Arcuri's ntoe, Apple Insider had a disclaimer.
"Arcuri's recent track record on Apple rumors is mixed. He did correctly reveal a number of details about the iPhone 6 back in January of 2014, but he also incorrectly claimed the iPhone 6 Plus would have a more powerful processor than the iPhone 6," it reported.
