Nine years after the release of "L: Change The World," a new sneak peek for the upcoming "Death Note" live-action film "Light up The New World" arrived on the web, teasing on the film's protagonist and abilities.

Posted through the Comic Natalie Entertainment website, the new clip shows character Sakura Aoi (played by Rina Kawaei), as she uses her "Shinigami Eyes" to reveal the lifespan of all the people nearby, whilst embarking on a murderous spree with the aid of a new Death Note.

Set ten years after the conclusion of "Death Note 2: The Last Name," six Death Notes have fallen simultaneously to the mortal realm. While taking place, two individuals were laced with the DNA of Light Yagami and L, subjecting them to a deadly cat and mouse game similar to the events of the first two films.

Aside from Kawaei, Masaki Suda, Sousuke Ikematsu, Masahiro Higashide, Mina Fuji, and Eichiro Funakoshi were tapped to play as Yuki Shien, Ryuzaki, Tsukuru Mishima, Sho Nanase, and Kenichi Mikuriya respectively, while Erika Toda, Sota Aoyama, and Shidou Nakamura will be reprising the roles of Misa Amane, Tota Matsuda, and Light Yagami's Shinigami partner, Ryuk.

Meanwhile, in commemoration of its live-action return as well as its impending Netflix rendition, "Death Note" authors Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata will be releasing the entire manga's run in a special 2,400-page compendium, which will be published and released this week.

"Death Note: Light up The New World" is slated to hit Japanese theaters, October 29th.
