Twin Peaks Teases With A Musical Trailer For 2017 Season
A new trailer for the upcoming revival of the award-winning cult TV show Twin Peaks is ramping up the excitement levels for the show which is set to premier in 2017.
The one-minute video features the iconic theme music from the series' music composer Angelo Badalamenti with hints of some of the series' familiar images, sure to bring in nostalgia for fans.
"Twin Peaks features prolific composer Angelo Badalamenti and his Grammy Award-winning theme music from the original series -- one of the most distinctive ever created for television by David Lynch. Badalamenti will return as composer for the new series, which will premiere on Showtime in 2017," said the statement that accompanied the release.
The video's description highlights how much the music was beloved and successful.
"Badalamenti has written some of the most unique film scores of our time," explains the video's description. "In addition to receiving the Grammy Award for the theme music of the original series, the 'Soundtrack Album from Twin Peaks' achieved gold status in 25 countries."
Twin Peaks is returning as a limited edition version series on Showtime in September 2017. The show tracks the happenings in a northwestern town after homecoming queen Laura Palmer is murdered. It initially ran for two seasons in 1990-91 and was later followed by a movie, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.
The latest series will be set twenty-five years later and will see the return of several old faces including Kyle MacLachlan, reprising his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper. Almost all original cast members are returning to the show along with a few newcomers such as Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried and Michael Cera. The entire cast numbers at a formidable 217.
With the revival, diehard fans of the show and a new generation will get a chance to enter once again into the haunting, weird and paranormal-affected world of the series.
The show is a creation of David Lynch and Mark Frost, who have written all the episodes of the latest season. David Lynch has directed all the episodes and finished shooting of all 18 of them recently. It was filmed continuously as a movie and be later be carved up into segments.
