‘Outlander’ Season 3 Spoilers, Air Date, Updates: Season Ends Series? To Premiere Late
Many are anticipating for "Outlander" Season 3 which is rumored to air late, while its lead star Sam Heughan allegedly teased the season will be the finale of the series.
Heughan, who portrays Jamie Fraser, revealed that "Outlander" season 3 will wrap finish filming on May 2017 which means that the season will air later than expected.
This season is based on the third book of Diana Gabaldon's "Voyager." It also featured various location changes which made the filming very challenging but then, viewers will see some great sceneries with some filmed in South Africa.
It is noted that Starz split season 1 into two installations and the second season came 11 months later. With this, it is expected that season 3 will indeed be airing late since after filming, post-production processes will still need to be performed.
Meanwhile, it is said that season 3 will be the finale of the series as teased by Heughan.
"We've just got two seasons commissioned for Outlander. We're doing 11 months. We finish end of May. And we'll be finishing in South Africa, which is pretty awesome. And then Season 4 will start not long after that," Heughan said according to Cinema Blend.
But it appears that there is a mere misunderstanding when he said it is "finishing in South Africa" because the series just renewed for two seasons on Starz which means that there will still be Season 4.
In an interview with Elle, Heughan revealed that Season 3 will be very exciting for the fans especially that it will have strong emotions. Of course, Heughan will be reuniting with Caitriona Balfe who plays the role of Jamie's wife, Claire.
For now, there is no official release date of "Outlander" Season 3 yet but since it will finish filming on May next year, it is expected to air on 2017.
