Destiny 2 Rumored to Have a PC Port

There isn't even an official announcement yet, but Kotaku has reportedly cited sources that claim Destiny 2 will be ported to PC. It's a someone knows someone who works somewhere story, but it's fleshed out more here. Between the NeoGAF post and Kotaku's own private sources, what may seem like an unsubstantiated rumor may actually be legitimate.

Kotaku's Jason Schreler also shares that Bungie is aiming to make the sequel feel like a different game altogether, even if it means allowing older lore, plants and even characters to the sidelines. He continues on to the comparison of how Blizzard's Diablo was successful in its own right, but that Diablo II forged on with totally different character classes and while it continued the general storyline of the first, it didn't completely move all the earlier characters to the next.

The style itself will resemble more traditional RPGs, in the NeoGAF post above, the mod was describing something about play-spaces, in which character can queue up for events and other quests while still roaming freely around the world. The NPCs and general ambiance of the gay will also be upgraded to become more engaging.

Another thing to note is that on the topic of this being a totally new game, the characters made by players in the first iteration of the game may not have the capacity to carry over their hard work into the sequel. Still, Activision will probably have an answer to this in the form of incentives or some such for those who have loyally played the first Destiny.

That said, Bungie's Destiny 1, was only available for consoles, so this new development will surely have players on the edge of their seats, especially for those who've been eyeing the game but were unable to play it. It also expands the horizons of not just the potential to tap a huge new audience, but it should do away with console-limited memory restrictions.
