Macbook Air, Macbook Pro 2016 Release Date May Be Next Month, According To Analyst
An analyst has shared her thoughts on the possible Macbook Air and Macbook Pro 2016 release date. Apparently, the highly-anticipated devices may be available as early as next month.
Forbes reported that Rhoda Alexander, Director Tablet and Notebook PCs at IHS Markit Technology, noted that it is possible that the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro 2016 release date could happen in late September or October this year. This is exciting news for Apple fans who have been patiently waiting for the latest devices.
"Production started in the second calendar quarter on refreshes of the 13.3-inch and 15.4-inch MacBook Pro [and] the 13.3-inch MacBook Air," Alexander said. She added that IHS predicted that "products will launch in late September or October of 2016."
Bloomberg's report last month is in line with the IHS' prediction that the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro 2016 release date would happen as soon as October. It was noted that the incoming devices would be equipped multi-functional USB C-port technology and iMacs with an option for new Advanced Micro Devices Inc. graphics chips.
A thinner Macbook Pro is also said to be in development. It will purportedly feature a digital function key display above the keyboard which will allow users to do common tasks with ease for each program. The feature is called "Dynamic Function Row" internally.
Mac World added that the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro 2016 release date could happen during a special event in October. With the underwhelming response to the updated Macbook Air, there were speculations that the Macbook Air line would be discontinued. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook debunked the rumors.
"I love the Mac and we are very committed to it," he wrote in an email to the Apple fan. "Stay tuned."
According to Apple Insider, the Macbook Pro 2016 will reportedly see a major upgrade in the fourth quarter of this year. Apparently, the device would be thinner, lighter and faster. Improvements are believed to come with the expected inclusion of Intel's Skylake processor.
