'Storks' Movie Review: “Storks” Not As Remarkably Engaging As 'Rio'
Early reports of Storks coming in as a blockbuster movie for this week have been rejected by several critics who found the movie "uneasy" and not as magnificently surprising. The story brings back the memories of "Storks" dropping babies to resident's homes. This time, though, the makers of the movie provided twists that does not revolve much around delivering babies anymore.
New York Times recounts the times when birds have become important characters in several classic and modern animation movies. Lion King's Zazu and Little Mermaid's Scuttle were named as a few characters who moved roles of birds in a higher notch. The report, however, told readers that the "Storks" movie does not provide the same moving effect about birds but it was enough to keep youngsters on their seats for an hour and a half. Its musical and joyful element does not even come close to "Rio".
Denver Post also gave a just-okay review about the "Storks" movie. The report says that while the animation is great, the downside of the movie can be blamed to its plot and the choice of voice talents. It was stated that there is nothing very outstanding about the voice talents and that a number of fidgeting in the voices were noticed. The review also gave away a hint that the plot is not at all kid-friendly. Denver Post emphasizes the plot with the words "ridiculous" and "a bunch of rot".
Time blamed the plot struggles with the Storks' lucrative livelihood after creating a much profit-oriented company which deals with delivering good from an online retailer. Their report highlights that not much of the characters and movie elements are revelatory except for a notable baby-making machine activated by the character Tulip. These reviews altogether points out that the plot cannot easily be mentally digested by youngsters and will only leave them asking how the human reproductive system works.
