Flybrix designed a kit that brings drone technology to the younger generation. "LEGO" bricks are used to assemble the drone and a smartphone is used as a controller.

According to The Christian Science Monitor, the basic kit is composed of 56 "LEGO" bricks, parts of the drone and an instruction on how to build a small drone that has four-rotor and can be controlled through an app and costs $149.

The deluxe kit also includes the "LEGO" bricks and has more complex models inside. It also has modification instructions and can be controlled using a radio control. This deluxe kit sells at $189.

"LEGO" bricks are purchased by Flybrix at a wholesale price. Co-founder of Flybrix, Holly Kasun shares that the bricks have already been used as tools for engineering. The founders hope to teach kids aerodynamics and also of basic physics.

Kasun also stated that Flybrix drones are offered to give kids the sandbox type of learning. Learning starts at the basic type and as the learning progresses, the kids tend to move on to a more complex development. This can be done while using the "LEGO" bricks as parts of the drone.

In a report from TechCrunch, once these "LEGO" bricks are assembled to make the Flybrix drones, they are intended to be lightweight and can fly indoors. These drones can be controlled through a Bluetooth flight control app for iOS and Android smartphones. It can also use the controller that can be purchased along with the kit.

It is also noted that a Flybrix drone can be assembled right away even if it crashed. "LEGO" bricks are easy to assemble with the way they are presented by the kit. This also makes the kids have room for learning in flying the drone.

Amir Hirsch, Flybrix cofounder used "LEGO" products in his lab during his schooling as an electrical engineering student in MIT. This inspired him to further create Flybrix.
