The 6'10" forward became an unrestricted free agent this season after he ended his contract with Brooklyn Nets last season. With five years experience in the league, Robinson will help World Peace to guide young players.
Robinson was selected by Sacramento Kings in 2012 as the fifth overall pick. In the same year, Kings traded him to Houston Rockets, which he played for one season. Robinson spent two seasons with Portland Trail Blazers before being traded again to Philadelphia 76ers in 2015.
While World Peace, whose original name was Ron Artest, will be a positive locker room presence for the Lakers' younger players according to USA Today. Especially, considering Lakers will head this season without Kobe Bryant for the first time ever in 20 years.
World Peace's will reunited with his former teammate, Luke Walton, who is appointe as the new Lakers head coach. The management fired Byron Scott for the poor 17-65 result last season.
