Angelina Jolie Files for Divorce From Brad Pitt
After a decade of being together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are calling it quits.
According to a recent report by celebrity media outfit TMZ, the perennial actress has filed for divorce, citing issues over their children, as well as Pitt's substance abuse as grounds for the legal request. The website's sources also claim that Jolie became "fed up" with Pitt's uncontrollable intake of weed and alcohol, which made even complicated by the actor's anger issues.
Furthermore, the documents filed have stated that Jolie is requesting for their children to be placed under her custody, believing that Pitt's recent behavior is endangering their welfare. However, Jolie added a clause, which will provide the actor visitation rights, but does not wish for any spousal or physical support from the latter.
Recent issues have also surfaced, stating that Jolie hired a private eye to investigate on Brad Pitt, with the investigator coming to the conclusion that the actor may have an affair with actress Marion Cotillard.
Cotillard co-stars with Pitt in the upcoming war film "Allied."
Her legal representative Robert Offer released a statement from Jolie: "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time."
In recollection, the couple's real-life relationship sprang off the throes of the 2004 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." After a three-year engagement, Jolie and Pitt married in August of 2014.
Jolie listed the date of separation as September 15, 2016.
