‘The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Confirmed To Have 'Amazing Female Badass' As Villain
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will be the final installment of the hit CW series. Kat Graham, who portrays Bonnie Bennett in the show, revealed what's in store for fans in the upcoming season.
In an interview with E! News, the 27-year-old "TVD" star revealed how much fun they have on set while shooting "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. Graham admitted that the cast is already feeling the nostalgia and are already missing each other while filming the final season.
Fans will be saying goodbye to beloved characters such as Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Bonnie after "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 ends. This comes after Nina Dobrev left the show after season 6.
According to Kat Graham, there will be "cool new characters" for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. "The villain, as of right now, is this amazing female badass," she added. "It's going to be good."
The actress has been with "TVD" since it started back in 2009, along with Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Candice King and Matt Davis. She admitted that she will miss everyone that she's worked with.
Showrunner Julie Plec confirmed that "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will be the show's last season during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the series' official website reported. The final season is expected to have 16 episodes and will see each character's journey come at a full circle.
"We are just in the early stages of writing the scripts, but every day in the room, we talk about different ways we can celebrate the first season," Plec said. She revealed that there have been pitches about the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant, the Decade Dance as well as Founder's Day.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 1 will air on Friday, Oct. 21. It is entitled "Hello, Brother," which is the first line that Damon Salvatore said on the popular series.
