Zack Snyder Tweets Photo of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon for 'Justice League'
In celebration of last Saturday's annual "Batman Day" festivities, "Justice League" director Zack Snyder posted a tweet of JK Simmons' first set photo as Gotham City Commissioner James Gordon.
According to a report by IGN, the said photo was taken last April by Snyder during a filmed scene featuring the said character and has been mentioned to be JK Simmons' first working day for the film.
It is noticeable that the set is based from the GCPD rooftop seen in comic books, with the Bat-signal situated near Simmons.
While Simmons' role for "Justice League" might be small, his iteration of James Gordon will be playing a bigger part in the yet-to-be-filmed solo DC Films outing "The Batman," alongside Ben Affleck, who will be reprising the role of Bruce Wayne aside from taking directorial duties for the movie.
It can be recalled that Simmons' training photos became viral following his casting announcement. He has stated once that his goal was to have "sick arms." Nothing has been revealed if his recent regimen is meant for his Jim Gordon role.
Simmons is part of the ensemble cast for the film, consisting of Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, among others. Due to the huge flak received by "Batman v Superman," both Snyder and new DC Films head Geoff Johns have made changes with the DC Extended Universe's tone, starting with the said project.
"Justice League" will be released globally in 2017.
