Fox Sports, LiveLike Team Launches Virtual Reality App for Live College Football

If  you're an avid football fan but have no time to watch in actual stadiums, then the Fox Sports VR App is for you. Partnering with LiveLike, Fox Sports is bringing Football to the VR scene, much like their collaboration with NextVR is doing the same with Boxing.

Upload also recently published an article with an interview with LiveLike's CEO, Andre Lorenceau. The CEO says that they have other games coming which isn't limited to only football. "...we do have many more games coming in the next few months from a variety of different sports."

Lorenceau also expounds on a different strategy with the VR on bringing about these changes. "What sets us apart what sets us apart from NextVR is that we feel broadcasters find value in being able to share content under their own umbrella."

The VR app itself is capable of making you feel like you're in the stadium itself, with a variety of viewpoints to choose from. One is a premium suite filled with things you can interactive with, and another is down in the stadium itself with full 360-degree vision. One more is an in-stadium board to watch the actual telecast with other VR content. Users can also look at rosters, schedules, statistics and the like on demand.

The app itself isn't limited to VR, and is compatible with both Android and iOS. The VR effect isn't in full, but it is described as a window of sorts to peek through the things you could see if you were wearing a headset. It also comes with 360-degree vision made specifically for mobile phones, much like the feature in Facebook.

However, all of this can only be done if you input the credentials of your cable provider. Basically, since you're watching a telecast, you have to prove you have it on cable as well. On top of this, it doesn't seem that all mobile phones are compatible with it. It would seem that the Xperia Z3 isn't able to handle the app. Aside from this, not much information has been released on whether it has to be a mobile phone. Tablets and compatibility with other handsets may come soon, though.

You can get the app here.
